High Borrans Percy is quirky and unique shepherds hut accommodation. Centrally heated and sleeping 2 guests, located at High Borrans farm near Windermere.
Percy is named after a local gentleman farmer and shepherd who was a close friend of the High Borrans family. His legacy has inspired Farmer Jonathan to continue traditional sheep farming in the Lake District. It is small but perfectly formed luxury accommodation which is the perfect quirky stay for those wanting something slightly more unusual without compromising on comfort. With underfloor heating, an electric stove, fully equipped kitchen, and shower room, it perfectly sums up compact cosiness. The hut has been hand built by local craftsmen at the Cumbrian Shepherds Hut Company.
Percy is in its own private cherry orchard, slightly separate from the other lodges. Complete with fire pit and wooden loungers, the secluded location is perfect for snuggling up on a clear evening and watching the spectacular night sky. Staying here offers easy access to all your favourite attractions in the Lake District.
High Borrans Lodges are located on a 1000 acre working Lakeland Farm in the fells between the Troutbeck and Kentmere Valleys. The popular Central Lakes villages of Windermere, Bowness & Ambleside and the main local attractions are within easy reach. The nearest shops and supermarket are a short 10 minute drive away in Windermere (3 miles). The nearest pubs are in the nearby villages of Ings or Troutbeck.
The small development of just 7, well positioned and spaced apart lodges and a Shepherd’s Hut take advantage of the peace, tranquillity and lovely views which surround the area. The accommodations are adjacent to a bridle path from where guests can set off on foot or bike to explore the surrounding scenery.
The area is a nature lover’s paradise and High Borrans perfectly combines the peace and tranquillity of the countryside whilst maintaining easy access to local lakes attractions and amenities.
