High Borrans Dene is a 1 bedroom self catering holiday lodge at High Borrans Farm near Windermere. This beautifully presented, centrally heated lodge is the perfect retreat to whisk your special someone away to. Located on a quiet rural working hill farm just a stone’s throw away from Windermere, it is a fantastic place to escape, relax and enjoy the soothing sounds of nature around you. Dene is an idyllic base to use to explore the surrounding Lakes, whilst also containing everything you would need for a weekend or longer spent snuggling up inside the lodge. The interiors calming blue and cream colour scheme creates a bright and airy atmosphere that helps you rest and unwind.
Dene lodge is unable to accommodate dogs.

Things to note...
- Strictly no children or infants are permitted at High Borrans.
- Secure wifi is available in the lodge
- Mobile phone signal is very patchy in the surrounding area.
- There is a free to use onsite laundry room in the small stone building at the entrance to the lodge park. This includes 2 washing machines, tumble dyer, iron and ironing board. There is also additional shared freezer storage space (plus some spare dog towels in case of need).
- Arrival is from 4pm. Departure by 10am.
Location
High Borrans Lodges are located on a 1000 acre working Lakeland Farm in the fells between the Troutbeck and Kentmere Valleys. The popular Central Lakes villages of Windermere, Bowness & Ambleside and the main local attractions are within easy reach. The nearest shops and supermarket are a short 10 minute drive away in Windermere (3 miles). The nearest pubs are in the nearby villages of Ings or Troutbeck.
The small development of just 7, well positioned and spaced apart lodges and a Shepherd’s Hut take advantage of the peace, tranquillity and lovely views which surround the area. The accommodations are adjacent to a bridle path from where guests can set off on foot or bike to explore the surrounding scenery.
The area is a nature lover’s paradise and High Borrans perfectly combines the peace and tranquillity of the countryside whilst maintaining easy access to local lakes attractions and amenities.

Reviews
We had a 4 day short break at High Borrans, the lodge was very comfortable and cosy and had everything you need and some nice additional touches. Its in a lovely location at the end of a no through road, so lovely and peaceful, however, you can easily drive to Windermere, Ambleside within a few minutes and if you take Moorhowe Rd the views are We did some really nice walks, with the option of lower level or higher fell tops if you wish, we really enjoyed this because the area was new to us and it was so much quieter than the rest of the Lakes. We will definitely be back to enjoy those views from the lodge and friendly sheep and have already recommended to friends and family.
This is a lovely well appointed cabin in a beautiful location. Very peaceful and ideally placed to enjoy the area
High Borrans is an idyllic location to enjoy the Lake District but get some peace from the crowds. The lodges are beautifully presented with lots of little touches to make you feel at home. When the weather finally sorted itself out, it was a joy to sit on the deck listening to nothing but birdsong. Highly recommended for a private and perfect getaway.
