Limefitt has also received the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award for work done to the protect and enhance Britain’s natural environment. Wildlife is plentiful in Limefitt Park and you will see many species of birds and visiting deer. Nocturnal visitors include a resident family of badgers.
The crystal clear waters of Trout Beck itself run off the surrounding fells and flow through Limefitt as they descend to Windermere a few miles away.
